SYLLABUS :
INTRODUCTION TO MARINE SPILL RESPONSE FOR SHIPPING

COURSE OBJECTIVE
Delegates will gain an understanding of pre-spill planning, of the legislation regarding
marine pollution caused by vessels, the role of the vessel, owner and insurers, the
actions that the vessel can take towards the spill response operation and the
importance of Health and Safety during an oil spill.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This course is designed for all seamen (captains, engineers, abs) and the operations
department, SQM department and DPA within a shipping company who would be
involved in the pollution response of an incident caused by their vessel.

Expert and Experience :
He is a trainer like as Training Fire & Safety Training, Training for Trainers , Hazard and Operability Study (Hazop (s) ), English Course conducted under TCDC Program, Risk Assessment and Analysis, Hazard Analysis and Audit, Safety & Environment Management for Offshore Petroleum Development (JICA Program/ Japan), Accident Investigation Workshop, Oil Industry Development and Management, (KOICA Program/ Korea) , etc. He has many Experience Instructor/Lecturer of Health, Safety and Environment at Oil and Gas Educational and Training Center in Cepu since 1994, Sub section Head of Training Program Planning/Designer of HSE training course at Oil and Gas Educational and Training Center in Cepu (1994 –2000), experience in oil & gas sectors, hazard identification, HAZOP, hazard analysis, Chief of Loss Prevention Profession ( 2004) Functional Lecturer start froms 2009 until now.

transportation of HNS at sea, the risks and threats posed by the loss of HNS, the
behaviour of HNS when spilt, the health and safety issues of HNS response, the various
spill response options and equipment available and the need for risk assessments and
contingency planning.
